Karen H. Prevatt
Karen was born in Savannah, Georgia,
and raised on Wilmington Island in a four-generational
home. She attended Young Harris College (A.A., A.S.
with concentration in Education), Maryville College
(B.A. with majors in Interpreting for the Deaf and Psychology)
and Candler School of Theology of Emory University (M.Div.).
She has taken post-graduate classes in Marriage and
Family Systems through the University of Georgia. She
is a Certified Life Coach from the Institute for Life
Coach Training and holds the designation of Associate
Certified Coach (A.C.C.) with the International Coach
Federation (ICF).
Karen has served as an ordained pastor
and an associate pastor on church staffs. The focus
of her ministry has been establishing small group ministries,
prayer ministries, and Bible studies. Other life experiences
include: interpreter for the deaf, intern at the Atlanta
Center for Independent Living, nanny, freshmen orientation
instructor at Georgia Southern University, foster parent,
and daily life with the physical challenge of achondroplasia.
Currently, she is appointed by the South
Georgia Conference to Living Tall, Inc., which provides
coaching services for individuals, couples, and small
groups and also provides leadership for Bible Studies,
workshops, retreats, and seminars. Karen coaches people
who want to move from surviving to thriving…from
thinking small to living tall. She has assisted many
people of all ages, from youth to older adults, in moving
from where they are in life to where they previously
only dared to dream to go. Her clients are responsible,
committed, high-achieving individuals who are passionate
about living an effective and fulfilled life.
On New Year's Eve in 1992, Karen married
Mike Prevatt. Mike is the Sales Manager at Freightliner
of Savannah and Augusta. She has three sons by marriage:
Tim who works and lives in Atlanta and Justin and Brian
who attend Georgia Southern University.
Karen likes to bike ride, read, play
with her niece and nephews, entertain family and friends
in her home, play Bunco, play Putt-Putt, be a student,
work in the yard, learn easy cooking recipes, and travel.
She has traveled to Israel, Sweden, Paris, Bermuda,
and Zimbabwe. Her most recent adventure was a hot-air
balloon ride in Palm Springs, California. |
